New York, New York – The BMCC women's soccer team dropped their season opener to the Fashion Institute of Technology 9-1 in Region 15 action on Friday afternoon at Pier 40. The Panthers fall to 0-1-0 (0-1-0 Region XV) while the Tigers improve to 2-2-1 (1-0-0 Region XV).
 
Sophomore Nayely Garcia (Puebla, Mexico) notched the Panther's only marker in the 33rd minute from freshman Nathali Ocampo-Lopez (Quimbaya, Colombia). Underclassman Shantaja Jones (New York, New York) made a team-best five saves and took the loss.
 
BMCC will look to get their first win of the season in their only home game of the year against CUNYAC opponent Kingsborough Community College on Thursday, September 21, at 12:30 p.m. at Pier 40. For more information, visit the BMCC Women's Soccer Schedule.
