New York, New York – No. 6 nationally ranked Suffolk County Community College snapped the BMCC women's soccer team's three-game winning streak 5-0 in Region 15 action on Thursday afternoon in Selden, New York. The Sharks move to 12-1-0 (6-0 Region XV) with the win, while the Panthers drop to 3-3-0 (3-3-0 Region XV) with the loss.

Suffolk County Community College jumped on BMCC early with four first-half goals, with Anastassia Gallego netting the first two in the fourth and 10th minute to make it 2-0 before Yamileth Fuentes added two more within two minutes of each other in the 13th and 15th minute to make it 4-0 Sharks at halftime.

Natalia Herron added one more marker in the 65th minute to cap off the dominant 5-0 victory for the Sharks.

Herron picked up her ninth victory of the season with the win, while freshman Josely Jimenez stopped a career-high nine shots on the afternoon.

BMCC will look for the program's first-ever CUNYAC Championship this Sunday, October 15, against Queensborough Community College in Queens, New York, at noon at Queens College. For more information, visit the BMCC Women's Soccer Schedule.
