BMCC Women's Falls To Hostos Community College On The Road

Bronx, New York - The BMCC women's basketball team was defeated by Hostos Community College, 81-35 in CUNYAC competition on Thursday night at the Swamp in the Bronx, New York. The victory improves the Caimans to 7-2 (5-0 CUNYAC) while loss drops the Panthers to 1-8 (1-3 CUNYAC).

Freshman Demaris Andrews (Bayonne, New Jersey) led the Panthers with a team-high 16 points and four assists. Classmate Amanda Araujo (Bronx, New York) contributed nine points on the night on a team-best three treys and Emily Kennedy (Brooklyn, New York) led the way defensively with a game-high five steals. Andrews also chipped in with four steals defensively for the Panthers.

Hostos Community College had four players in double figures with Aiyana Hicks posting a double double with a game-high 22 points and five three pointers made while hauling down 11 rebounds in the contest. Savannah Williams and Lanasia Drain scored 19 points and 14 points while Dimon Walker contributed 10 points. 

Felicia Felicien dished out a game-high 10 assists while Fatoumata Diaby ripped down a game-high 15 boards amnd Zaire Bailey corralled 11 rebounds. Hicks turned away a game-high four shots while Felicien and Williams snagged a game-high tied four steals apiece.

The Panthers head on the road to take on Suffolk County Community College this Tuesday December 13 at 6 p.m. at Brookhaven Gymnasium in Seldon, New York. For more information visit the BMCC Women's Basketball Schedule Page.
