BMCC Men's Basketball Edged 70-65 On The Road Against Nassau C.C.

Garden City, New York - The BMCC men's basketball team gave Nassau Community College all they could handle but were held off 70-65 in their Region 15 opener on Saturday afternoon in Garden City, New York. The Lions improve to 3-1 (2-0 Region XV) while the Panthers drop to 0-2 (0-1 Region 15) with the loss. 

Three of the five BMCC starters finished the afternoon in double-figures, with freshmen Leverson Tulien (Roslyn Heights, New York) and Daniel Laffitte (New York, New York) spearheading the offensive effort with 13 points apiece. Sophomore Jeremiah Cardi (New York, New York) chipped in with 11 points and dished out a team-best four assists, while Tulien hauled down a team-high seven rebounds and snatched a team-best two steals. Underclassman Amaziah Richberg (Brooklyn, New York) and Tulien also swatted a team-high two shots apiece.  

The Panthers put together a complete first-half performance in their second game of the season to lead by five, 32-27 at halftime. The Lions rebounded strongly in the second half building their lead up to 10 before BMCC battled back to cut that deficit down to 62-60 with three minutes remaining. However, Nassau Community College would pull away after picking up the 70-65 victory.

Nassau Community College had three players score in double figures. Madison Muldrow III led the way with a game-high 17 points., while Donte Howard and Jesse Taylor contributed 15 and 13 points, respectively. Howard dished out a team-high four assists, and RJ Thompson grabbed a team-best 11 rebounds.

The Panthers head back to downtown Manhattan for a three-game homestand beginning this Tuesday, November 15, against CUNYAC opponent Queensborough Community College at 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit the BMCC Men's Basketball Schedule Page.
