Ady Gaye's First Career Hat Trick Propels Men's Soccer To 6-1 Victory At Home Over Dutchess C.C.

Four different Panthers found the back of net on Tuesday afternoon

New York, New York - In the face of bad weather over their past two matches, the BMCC men's soccer team's offense hasn't flinched. After putting up five goals over the weekend, the Panthers equaled that output in the first half on Tuesday afternoon, with three of the tallies coming off the foot of Elhadji Ady Gaye (Dakar, Senegal) en route to a dominant 6-1 victory over Region 15 opponent Dutchess C.C. at Pier 40.

BMCC's second straight victory gets them back to .500, improving them to 4-4 (3-4 Region XV), while the Falcons fall to 0-7-1 (0-4-1 Region XV) with the loss.

The Panthers got right to work on offense as Jimmy Vargas delivered a beautiful lead pass to Ady Gaye, who did the rest with a left-footed boot into the low right pocket of the net in the fourth minute to give BMCC a 1-0 lead. Freshman Ademola Opesanwo (Bronx, New York) increased the Panther lead to 2-0 in the 15th minute when he took a rolling Lucas Amato (Queens, New York) feed and blasted it home for his team-leading seventh goal of the season. Ady Gaye would complete his first career hat trick with markers in the 31st and 36th minute to extend the Panther lead to 4-0. Amato and Vargas provided the assists on both goals.

BMCC closed out the first half with a gorgeous free kick goal by Alassane Koroma (Abidjan, Ivory Coast), who bent a beautiful ball over a wall of Dutchess defenders and into the back of the net in the 44th minute to give the Panthers a 5-0 halftime lead. BMCC outshot Dutchess 29-2 in the first half and controlled the corners 7-1.

Freshman Hamilton Azon (Bronx, New York) kicked off the Panthers, scoring a minute into the second half in the 46th minute for putting home a rebound on a Carlos Auquilla (New York, New York) shot for his first goal of the season to make it 6-0. Samuel Dennehy would spoil the clean sheet attempt for the Falcons in the 55th minute to make it 6-1 off a pass from Michael Sambells as the Panthers controlled the play the rest of the day for a decisive victory.

The Panthers outshot the Falcons 34-7 on the afternoon as CUNYAC Rookie of the Week Abdul Mumin Seidu (Bronx, New York) picked up his fourth victory of the season and made four stops. Brayan Ramirez stopped a game-high eight shots for Dutchess C.C. and took the loss.

The Panthers will look to extend their winning streak to three against #11 nationally ranked Mercer County Community College on the road tomorrow, October 5, at 6 p.m. in Trenton, New Jersey. For more information, visit the BMCC Men's Soccer Schedule.
