Panthers Fall To Dutchess, 54-38, On The Road; Malcolm Grabs A Career-High 25 Rebounds

Poughkeepsie, New York | The BMCC women's basketball team dropped a Regional contest at Dutchess Community College on Thursday evening by the final score of 54-38. In defeat, the Panthers lost to visiting Kingsborough Community College on Tuesday evening, 53-42, at BMCC Gymnasium. The Panthers' record falls to 2-9 (2-7 Region XV) on the year, while the Falcons improve to 6-5 (6-4 Region XV) with the victory. 

Sophomore Lauren Malcolm (Bronx, New York) posted her third double-double of the year, hauling down a career-high 25 rebounds to go along with 13 points, also tying a team-high. Classmate Autum Adams-Edwards (Brooklyn, New York) tied for a team-best with 13 points and snatched a team-high four steals, while freshman Shyasia Preston (Far Rockaway, New York) corralled 14 boards on the evening.

Three Dutchess players scored in double-figures, with freshman guard Kamryn Hammand leading the way with 22 points to along with a team-high four steals. Classmates Starr-Aisa Hayes and Mackenzie Winsker chipped in with 12 points and 11 points, while Shannon Kelly brought down a team-best nine rebounds. 

Notables: 
  • Autum Adams-Edwards (Brooklyn, New York) recorded back back-to-back double-figure games for the first time since Nov. 19 at Queensborough and at Home Nov. 21 vs. Monroe College (Bronx). Adams-Edwards leads the Panthers with six double-digit scoring efforts this season. Classmate Lauren Malcolm (Bronx, New York) is second on the team with four double-digit scoring efforts on the season.
  • Malcolm also leads BMCC with three double-doubles and has seven for her Panther career. She recorded her second straight double-digit rebound effort while leading the team with eight on the season. Shyasia Preston (Far Rockaway, New York) also has ripped down ten or more rebounds in back to back contests and is second on the team with four double-digit rebound games this year.
