Paramus, New Jersey |Â The BMCC women's basketball team was defeated 66-33 by Bergen County Community College on Thursday evening in Paramus, New Jersey. With the loss, the Panthers fall to 2-6, while the Bulldogs improve to 8-3.Â
Sophomore Aniyah Davis (Brooklyn, New York) led the Panthers in scoring with a season-high 17 points, while classmate Lauren Malcolm (Bronx, New York) contributed eight of her own.
Three Bergen County Community College sophomores scored in double figures on the night, led by Liana Martinez's 24 point effort. Martinez also tied for a team-best with six steals, while classmate Nalya Hill recorded a double-double, grabbing a team-high 18 rebounds and scoring 19 points to go along with a team-best three blocks. Fellow Sophomore Nicole Gaito and Caitlin Conlon both snatched a team-high tied six steals while Gaito chipped in with 13 points, and Conlon grabbed 11 rebounds and contributed eight points on the night.
The Panthers schedule is finished for December, and they will be back at it in the New Year on Thursday, Jan. 9, on the Road against three-time defending CUNYAC champion Hostos Community College.
