Queens, NY | After dropping the last two series against Queensborough and Nassau, the Panthers wanted to right the ship on Tuesday when they began a four game series against the Monroe-Bronx Express. With eight different players driving in at least one run, the Panthers saw offensive production coming from every spot in their lineup, resulting in a 15-5 victory.
Â
In the first-ever matchup between the Panthers and Express, a huge 6-run second inning turned out to be enough to put BMCC on top.
Jayson De Los Santos led the Panthers by going 2-3 at the plate with two walks while driving in 3 runs including an RBI triple that triggered the mercy rule. Second baseman Chris Nunez also picked up a pair of hits while driving in 2 runs for BMCC. Panthers starting pitcher
Stephen Crawford struck out 12 while allowing 5 runs in a complete game performance to pick up his first win of the season.
Â
Game 2 of the series will be at Padavan-Preller Complex on Friday, first pitch is set for 3:30pm. Stay tuned for more updates on BMCC Baseball as the Panthers enter the final stretch of the 2018 season.
