New York, NY | Playing their last regular season game in front of a home crowd on Tuesday night, the players graduating from the program were prepared to face off against the Queensborough Tigers. The six senior members of the team combined for 62 points in an 81-38 blowout victory over their conference opponent.
Sophomores
Nikola Zilakova and
Karina Ortega both nailed 5 threes to provide a scoring boost for the Lady Panthers. Zilakova would raise her scoring average this season by recording 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field and added on to her impressive night with 4 assists. Ortega had a sound performance all around tonight as the Lady Panthers forward recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. The front court duo of
Maryam Toure and
Nia Watson matched the rebounding total of the entire Tigers team with 24 boards. After creating multiple second chance opportunities with 9 offensive rebounds, Toure would finish the night with 14 points. Point guard
Jehosheba Foster picked up a game-high 5 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds while pressuring Queensborough to force several turnovers.
Omorefe Slayton-Izevbuwa provided a spark off of the bench with 6 points, 8 assists and a pair of assists.
