Brooklyn, NY |Â The women's volleyball team was on the road for a Saturday CUNYAC doubleheader against the Kingsborough Wave and Queensborough Tigers. After falling to the Tigers in straight sets in the opening match, the Lady Panthers bounced back with a 3-1 victory over the Wave.
The freshman duo of Soraya Naki and Yolireisi Pichardo combined for 27 kills to lead the attack for BMCC. The Lady Panthers libero Nisha Rosario was impressive with 5 aces and 31 digs, while Jennifer Chacon set up her teammates with 35 assists.
Following the doubleheader split, the Lady Panthers have clinched the 2nd seed for the CUNYAC tournament with one regular season conference match remaining. The women's volleyball team will be back in action on Tuesday when they take on the Kingsborough Wave at BMCC Gymnasium.
