Jamaica, NY | Following a string of non-region games this month, the Region 15 schedule opened on Thursday with a matchup against the Suffolk Sharks. Facing the defending regional champions, BMCC kept the game close early on, but a two-run single from Suffolk in the fourth inning would blow the game wide open. With 8 innings in the book, the game would be called due to a lack of daylight with the Panthers trailing 6-0.
Despite the outcome, BMCC has continued to improve as the season progresses. A strong outing from the Sharks pitching staff kept the Panthers offense in check with no runs coming across and only three hits allowed.
Christopher Nunez,
Maximo Garcia and Christopher Garcia all finished the game with one hit each.
Panthers' pitcher
Ramon Baez Jr. looked dominant in his biggest test so far this season. After coming out of the bullpen in the 6
th inning, the sophomore allowed one hit through the final three innings.
BMCC will be back in action tomorrow afternoon when they take on the Sharks at Roberto Clemente Park. First pitch is set for 4pm.
