Bellerose, NY |Â After dropping the first three games of the series against Queensborough, BMCC bounced back with a 2-1 victory over their conference opponents on Sunday. Starting pitcher
Rolfin Silverio struck out nine in a complete game performance to give the Panthers their second win of the season.
With scoring opportunities at a premium in Sunday's pitcher's duel, the Panthers got their first run in the bottom of the 4
th inning on a sacrifice bunt from
Jonathan Cedeno that scored
Justin Perez from third. The Tigers would respond with a  run of their own in the next inning, but the Panthers would score the go-ahead run on a RBI single from
Joseph Felix.
After retaking the lead in the bottom of the fifth, Silverio pitched lights out for the remainder of the game, the freshman did not surrender a hit and retired 4 of the next 6 batters to secure the win.
The Panthers will look to carry this momentum into their next series against the Nassau Lions. BMCC will return to Preller Field for games on Tuesday and Friday before travelling to Nassau for a doubleheader on Saturday.
