|Â BMCC made quick work of their Region 15 opponent on Saturday afternoon, beating the Westchester Vikings by a final score of 3-0. With another shutout victory, the Panthers move to 6-2 in regional games with one remaining against the Suffolk County Sharks.
For the second game in a row, the Panthers opening goal was scored by their striker Mujibu Adejemo, A through ball from
Daniel Munoz escaped the goalkeeper's gloves and found Adejemo alone in front of the goal. They would go into the halftime with a 1-0 lead after dominating time of possession and limiting the Vikings to just 2 shots on goal in the first half.
In the second half, the Panthers continued to control the tempo of the game with their aggressive offensive attack. It would pay off in the 60
th minute when a Westchester hand ball in the box led to a successful penalty kick attempt by
Daouda Coulibaly. Five minutes later, the Panthers closed the door on the Vikings when
Marcus Folkes crossed the ball to
Aboubacar Keita who scored for his team-high 7
th goal of the season.
The Panthers will put their three game win streak on the line when they travel to Suffolk on Wednesday to take on the Sharks at 4pm.
