Garden City, NY | The Lady Panthers fell to the Lions by a final score of 53-70 for their 5th consecutive loss of the season. Despite the final outcome, BMCC matched up well against one of the toughest teams in the region. At the end of the first half, the Lady Panthers would trail by just 5 points. After shooting over 50% in the first half, the Panthers offense slowed down in the second half as the team could not buy a basket.
In the loss,
Kiara Atkins continued to play well, the sophomore went 9-19 from the field on her way to 23 points on the night. Freshman
Malaysia Morton recorded 11 points for her second double-digit scoring output of the season. Once again,
Ashley Brooks led the team in rebounding with 11, this marks the 7th game this season that the freshman forward has recorded over ten rebounds.
The Lady Panthers will have some time off before they return next Tuesday for a matchup against their regional opponent, the Suffolk Sharks. This will be the first game of a Senior Night doubleheader, the action tips off at 7:00pm.
