New York, NY Â |Â After a slow start on Saturday, the Panthers pulled ahead of the Senators and never looked back, winning the game with a final score of 85-62. Freshman
Joshua Armstrong led all scorers with 21 and added on 10 boards to finish the game with a double-double.
With the score tied 12-12 eight minutes into the game, the Panthers went on a 15 point run and never looked back. They headed into the locker room with a 42-27 lead behind a strong performance from
Kenneth Coar, who led the team with 9 first half points.
The second half was dominated by Armstrong, the forward picked up 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals including an emphatic fastbreak dunk to help the Panthers coast to an easy victory.
Matthew Boyd played well, the sophomore transfer led the team with 5 assists while piling on 17 points of his own. 2014-15 All-American forward
Kenneth Coar finished the game with 16 despite playing just 19 minutes due to foul trouble. Team Captain
Jonathan Jones finished with 13 points and 5 rebounds while co-captain
Jamel Harris grabbed 10 boards of his own.
BMCC basketball hits the road next week, but will return home for a men's and women's doubleheader against Sullivan County this Saturday. Tipoff for the women's game is set for 2PM with the men's game following.
