Brooklyn, N.Y. - The BMCC Panthers lost 86-70 to the Hostos Caimans in the semi-finals at the 2014 CUNYAC Community College Men's Basketball Championships.
The Panthers had three players get to double figures,
Tim Pandolfi led all scorers with 19 points, he also grabbed a season-high seven rebounds.
Akeem Williams notched his 6
th double-double of the season with 14 points and 14 rebounds, he also added four blocks.
Shaundre Jones added a career-high 12 points.
With 9:43 left in the 1
st half, the Panthers led 22-21 but a quick 11-0 run, led by Taron Pascal's two 3-pointers gave the Caimans a 32-22 lead with 8:07 until halftime. From that point forward the Panthers would get no closer than 8 points.
The Caimans were led by Tyree White who tallied 15 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and four blocks. Rashaan Bailey scored 16 points while Dehaina Bailey scored 15 and Pascal scored 14.
The Panthers return to action next Friday in the 2014 Region XV Men's Basketball Tournament game. The games will be played in Selden, NY on the campus of Suffolk Community College.
