Women’s Volleyball Loses Out to Union

The Lady Panthers fall to 2-6

NEW YORK, NY| The Borough of Manhattan Community College women's volleyball team lost in straight sets to Union County College on Saturday afternoon in a match played at the Fashion Institute of Technology. With the loss, BMCC fall to 2-6 in regional play.

After a rough first set that saw the Lady Panthers loses 10-25, BMCC fought back in sets two and three, despite losing 17-25 and 23-25, respectively.

Freshman Jennifer Santos had a season- and team-high of nine kills and added six digs and two services aces. Johanna Castro also established a season-high with seven kills, while recording 10 digs.

Setter Kaina Bazard racked up a personal best 21 assists, and libero Kimberly Mejia dug out 11 balls.

The Lady Panthers welcome Westchester Community College and Rockland Community College to BMCC on Sunday, October 5 for a Region XV double-duel. The matches are set to begin at 12:00 PM (Westchester) and 1:15 PM (Rockland).
