Lady Panthers fall to FIT Tigers



With the sun shining on Pier 40 in Manhattan the Lady Panthers of BMCC took on the Tigers of FIT in a NJCAA Region XV matchup.  It was a tough battle throughout which saw the Panthers take 8 shots, placing 4 on goal, in the first half but were unable to put it pass the Tigers goalkeeper Katelyn Snow.  Marlene Feliz, a freshman goalkeeper, was equally up to the task saving all 3 shots put on goal by the Tigers as both teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half.  The second half was a defensive battle on both sides which saw only 5 shots on goal and the Panthers outshoot the Tigers 3-2, however the Tigers first shot on goal of the second half proved to be a decisive strike from Evgenia Hakenhof as she was able to get the ball through the Panthers defense and into the back of the net.  The Panthers pressure the Tigers for the duration of the second half but were unable to score the equalizer and fell to the Tigers by a score of 1-0.  With the loss the Panthers now drop to (1-4 overall, 0-4 in the region).

The Panthers next game will take place on October 9th at 4pm on the campus of Rockland CC in a Region XV road match-up.
