Bellerose, NY Â |Â Â BMCC baseball was in action against the Bronx Broncos this afternoon. The Panthers were looking for get even with Broncos after BCC stole the first game of the series earlier this week.
After allowing three runs to come across in the top of the first, the Panthers kept their composure and answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the inning.
Geovany Henriquez led off the inning with a walk and stolen base, followed by another walk drawn by
Erick Smith.
Justin Perez got the scoring started with an RBI single, before
Rolfin Silverio cleared the bases with a 3-run homer. The Panthers rallied again in the 3
rd inning, scoring 5 runs on a double from
Nathaniel Rivera and homerun from
Darwin Nivar. Rivera and Jason Villanova belted a pair of homeruns in the 4
th inning, for a total of 3 runs.
Entering the game with a 1 run lead in the 3
rd,
Christopher Arias dominated the Broncos with four strikeouts while allowing just 3 runs over five innings of work to secure the win for BMCC. The game would end after seven innings with the Panthers coming out on top with a final score of 14-6.
With their first victory in the books, the Panthers will look to continue their recent level of run production as they look for the series win against the Broncos this Saturday at Ohio Field in the Bronx. Tomorrow's CUNYAC doubleheader action is set to start at 12 pm.
